July 3
I can't believe that we leave at 4AM on 4th. This week has just flown by. Class has kept us busy in evening, but we still have made time to fellowship with others. On Monday, though we just came back to house after class and worked on grading, etc.
Tuesday was wonderful. We went to Sorenson's and I was able to complete the doll you see in the photo below. Between sewing, though, the girls took us to a swimming cave. It is a cave in the limestone cliffs where the locals got water during the Japanese occupation and I believe some of the US soldiers hid. I will look up the facts and post more later.
Wednesday, yesterday, we hiked Mt LamLam, the tallest mountain in the world, according to the locals. The interesting thing about that is that most of it is in the Mariana's Trench. It is only 1300 or so feet above sea level, and so is the tallest spot on Guam. The view as spectacular. There are photos on the link to the left.
Today was the last day of class. We gave the final, then has lunch with the Owens and two other missionaries. The stories were amazing of their times in the fields here in Micronesia.
We are going to have a Chuukese and Pohnepei dinner this evening put on by the students and their families. We are looking forward to it, but first we have to finish cleaning the house.
More later.
