Our eldest daughter will be married on Sunday to a wonderful young man. We are very happy for them. These last two weeks have been very busy. I started back to school, Armin worked on our new paver patio, and we both tried to do wedding things for Elizabeth.
Having a wedding these days is so much more involved than it was 25 years ago. When Armin and I married we had a church potluck of sorts. We didn't need any gifts as we had both lived on our own for years, so we asked people to bring their favorite Italian dish. Our friends, who had a band, played. The decorations were potted plants at the makeshift altar. It was simple even with 250 people. Today, it seems like much more of a production, or am I just getting too old to appreciate things.
